Hi All,
Was there a Minor Meteor Shower last night? January 15-16, 2008?
I operated the Camera from 08:00pm until 7:00am..........most meteors came after 2:00am
or are these all just likely sporadics.
I captured about 16 meteors last night during initial testing of my second camera setup
using my SkyCam #2. This is an F1.3 Fujinon Variable lens(2.7mm to 13.5mm) and PC164C Ex-view camera.
This Camera points North East and the FOV covers about 45 degrees vertically, and 60 degrees horizontally.
Unfortunately,
I did not run my AllSkyCamera last night, as I have only one PC equiped with Video capture right now, I will be equipping a second PC with a Video Capture Card shortly.
Here are two of the Brightest Meteors photos from the group last night.

On 15-16 Jan, we were almost covered by clouds in Japan, so we cannot confirm anything.
In our experience, it is very common that 10 to 30 meteors are captured on one night by using a 45 degrees FOV system like your new one. I think you can enjoy those number of meteors on every fine night .
A new shower can be detected by the measurement of UFOAnalyzerV2, even on single station observation. Though it is rather complex to use... it will be more interesting.

Thanks for the information,
WOW! 10 to 30 per night is average, thats amazing!
I didn't realize just how much stuff hits the atmosphere each night......that is so cool!
I can't wait to see what its like on a true meteor shower night!
My original allskycam does not have the resolution or quality I get with the 45 to 60 FOV camera setups, but it does catch the big long ones.
Time to get more cameras up too!
Thanks again for the info.
