Hello SonotaCo,

We are very impressed with the capture capability of your software!

I am now trying to reduce a two camera detection to an orbit. The one view shows a meteor trail as a straight line. The second camera shows it as an arcing trail. This is a 10 second long event. The straight event gets a line through it with UFO Analyzer, the second curved event gets a red box. They don't want to see each other and only one shows up on the radiant page.

Another issue that might be part of the problem is that we are setting the file name times to UT. I changed the file names back to local and things lined up to the stars but still had the issues noted above.

Lastly the events are off by about 3 seconds and when I go to use the program to adjust the time, it crashed completely out of the program.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Thank you for using.

the second curved event gets a red box.

UFOAnalyzer measures the linearity of the trajectory by the trajectory pole direction on the equational coordinates. Therefore curve in the FOV itself does not matter the measurement or classification. If a curved trajectory was classified as '_curve', it may be caused by noises around the trajectory. On those case, the tuning of threshold level 'ddl' may be useful. increase ddl to reduce the noise.
Also 'qm' (quick mask for restrict area) might be useful.

This might cause troubles. I don't know what happens when the clip file names are manually modified.(The relation between contents of xml file and clip files should be kept always).

If the event was very important (such as meteoroids falls) and if I can get all clip files and all profile information, I can try to analyze them.
regards,

If we use your UTC setting does that interfere with determining the meteor trajectory? Have you tested this configuration? If so we will go back and try again.

thanks

I believe it is well tested. There were no problems report about UTC mode ever.
But I will test again it tonight.
Do you find any problem about time?

The safest way is to operate both PC and UFOCapture in local time mode. It is default way and there are hundreds of observers doing so.

2010/01/05 No prblem was found on UTC mode.
