Netbook?
No, it is not likely.
UFOCapture requires fast CPU and HDD. The minimum conditions are ....
CPU > Pentium M or Core series 2.0GHz (Pentium4/Celeron/Atom is NOT enough)
HDD > 5400rpm 40GB inner drive
In my experience Pentium M 2.0GHz NOTEBOOK was enough for 640x480 USB video capture device(Xp), but it was not enough for 720x480 IEEE1394 capture device.
Please use enough powerful PC such as core 2 duo > 2.2GHz. It is delicate.

Hi,
I have used aNetbook with Atom N450 1.66 Ghz for UFO Capture with a Watec 902B camera and Logilink USB Grabber without problems (70% processor load). No other tasks running. Did I miss some events or is Grabber using less CPU power than IEEE1394? Did you improve processing speed in the latest versions of UFO Capture?

Hi Martin
Thank you for info.
I guess the it can be difference of parameter conditions.
For example, Pentium-M (almost equal to single core Core series) 2.0GHz, and video is 720x480x29.97fps
All mask (Scintillation, slow obj, dark obj) OFF, Replay sheet viewing Detecting --> 25% CPU
All mask (Scintillation, slow obj, dark obj) OFF, Live sheet viewing Detecting --> 50% CPU
All mask (Scintillation, slow obj, dark obj) ON, Live sheet viewing Detecting --> 80% CPU
All mask (Scintillation, slow obj, dark obj) ON, Live sheet viewing Detecting and recording --> 100% CPU
Could you let me know your conditions?

Hi Sonotaco,
thanks for the information. My settings: I have turned everything on, as you can see from my settings below. I have just started using UFO Capture, so the settings are not optimal. I detect many planes with blinking lights, as a traffic lane passes right through the field of view. Suggested parameter to avoid these?
Another question: where can I find the meaning of the parameters in M*.csv. Can these be used to select good meteor observations and discriminate against other events?
Regards, Martin

Thank you for details.
Oh, Atom N450 was dual threading. That was the major reason why it was 70% and OK.
I didnot care about Atoms, but now I should say "there are some notebooks/ultrabooks that suit for UFOCapture".
As for air plains, if you want to reject more, increase SlowObjMask SOsize, such as 16 or 20.
It cannot be perfect, but it will reject larger flash light of plains.
There is no document for M*.csv. It is inner data format of UFOseries (between UFOAnalyzer and UFOOrbit).
It is not opened for some reasons.
(It is a mechanism to collect observations without manual modifications on open network and ensure the accuracy, also it keeps the free hand of version up).
