Dear all,

I have recently bought a FLIR Blackfly camera with an 1/1.2" chip, I am now looking for a suitable C-Mont lens f<1.0 and a FOV of about 40-60 degrees, without auto Iris. All lenses I have found so far, move in a range of about $ 700 - $ 2400.

The whole setting I would later perhaps use in a multicam with 6-7 cameras. But with such lens prices it will probably not be feasible.

So I thought I'd ask the specialists here, do any of you maybe know a shop that might have slightly more moderate prices?

I am grateful for every reference.

Best regards,

Roger

I have never heard of a lens that satisfy this request.
Only one F<1.0 c-mont lens that is usable for 1/1,2 is 25mm F0.95.

This is 40716Yen in Japan. But its FOV for 1/1.2 may be 25x17degrees or so.
Sorry.

Hi SonotaCo,

thanks for your message. Yes, it is not easy. But there are a few of them. e.g. the Navitar: https://navitar.com/products/imaging-optics/high-speed-imaging/high-speed-lenses/

I'll keep looking and reporting, if I've had found something. Thanks again and best regards,

Roger

Sorry, it is not sure but, 17mmF0.95 C mount is sold for 2/3" in Japan.

It will not satisfy 1/1.2" sensor.

Hi Roger,

I think both Navitar 25mm and 17mm F0.95 will cover 1" (also 1/1.2"). I have the 25mm on my Grasshopper3, but often have it stopped down to F1.2 to eliminate some lens flare and vignetting. When I bought it years ago it was ?280, but it seems that prices have increased.
Note that these lenses are rated for 1 megapixel. On 5.8 micron pixel size it seems okay, but this lens on my Flea3 with 3.69 micron pixels looks soft. So one may consider also F1.4 lenses rated for multi megapixels.

But you asked for wide angle options, which would be the range 8-12mm. There are some F1.4 options but I don't know quality or price. Lenses rated for more megapixels start at F1.8, it gets a little dark or noisy then...

As far as I know, auto-iris is only offered in 1/3 - 1/2 inch formats.

best regards,
Oscar

Dear SonotaCo, Dear Oscar

Many thanks for your help! So, I'll try the Navitar 25mm f0.95 c mount. On ebay there are a few used for a moderate price. For a wider FOV I'll use the WATEC.

Oscar: thank you for your review of the Navitar! Your TLE images are simply outstanding! So that’s the best reference.

CS

Hi all!

Recently I have found very interesting megapixel lens Hikvision HV0733D-6MP with rare characteristics. Unfortunately, I didn't see it in work, but, perhaps, it is useful to someone:
