Hi everyone,
After a long break, I started observing spectral meteors again.Very interesting to read this thread, lots of useful information.
I have different equipment now. Color Night Vision F0.95 StarLight Lens AHD-H (1080P) 1/2.8" STARVIS IMX327 NVP2441, Diffraction Grating Holographic Glass 1000 lines. This is my best Perseid spectrum of 2023.

Hi,
Thats a great colour spectrum! I had a look online and there are several suppliers offering that type of camera. Where did you get yours? I'd like to try one with a longer focal length lens.
Thanks,
Bill.

Hi all,
I've been getting some incredible results on my High Resolution Meteor Spectroscopy (HiReMS) cameras.
This one was a really lucky catch as I got the 2nd order from ~400nm to 595nm.
I've counted ~185 lines in the original image. The vast majority are from iron atoms with Cr, V, Ca, Mg and of course the sodium doublet!
I'm still not 100% sure that I've removed all of the overlap lines but it's still the best meteor spectrum I've seen!
Best regards,
Bill.

What is the focal length of the lens?

Hi,
It's a 25mm f1.3 cctv lens for 1 inch sensor with a 600 line/mm grating.
I'm lucky that it was bright enough to give a good second order spectrum.
Cheers,
Bill.

Hi All,
Here is a different version of the synthetic spectrum thats done in sections so it doesn't look so cluttered.
Cheers,
Bill.

Hi Bill,
Thanks for the great spectrum.
When you can capture higher-order spectra, you'll achieve better resolution, which is great!
I think your system is great in that there is very little aberration in the lens from blue to violet. The resolution will be even better at 1080p if it can be increased further.

Hi everyone,
I captured this nice fireball spectrum last week.
It is a Type B, pure iron spectrum.
I have only captured a few of these over the past few years.
The spectrum has a very large thermal component in the yellow/orange part with fewer discrete lines compared to the many Fe lines in the blue/green part.
I think the synthetic coloured version is very interesting.
The observers from the UKMON network also captured this fireball.
it had a low inclination, ~10deg and a very low speed of only ~10.6km/sec.
The orbit indicates the meteorid originated in the asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter.
Thanks to UKMON for making their data public.
Best regards,
Bill.

Comparison of the spectrum of the fading part after the explosion (a significant portion of the trace) with the summary spectrum from the dynamic part, i.e. from the flight of the bolide. Spectrum taken by the PointGrey camera (3 MPx) with a resolution of 0.49 nm/px on August 24, 2024, it was a sporadic meteor. The dominant lines change drastically and the lines of the iron multiplets FeI-1, FeI-2 and FeI-3 predominate.

Hello,Mr. JKoukal。
these are excellent analysis results.
It's a properly calibrated profile.
What spectral characteristics did you use? Could you please tell me?
Could you show me the sensitivity correction graph?
I'd like to use it as reference, so thank you in advance.

Hello Mr. Sekiguchi,
in the appendix I attach a laboratory calibration curve of two systems - PG GS3-U3-32S4M-C (IMX 252) and QHY-III 178M (IMX 178). The calibration curve is instrumental, taken on various sources from UV to IR. The curve represents the entire system, i.e. the camera, Tamron lens, diffraction grating (foil) and cover glass of the camera housing.
