Hi Sonotaco-San:
I was doing a single stepping in UFOCaptureV2 to get the time stamps of a flashing satellite....
I am running PAL and the software setting is 25 frame per second. How do i confirmed this is really the frame rate? In single stepping a video file within Ufocapture, i do not get time increment of 1/25, ( 0..0.04, 0.08, 0.12..) , and stranger still not all frames resulted in n+1 minus n frame same delta value. eg. instead of me seeing a '0.31' some adjacent frame differs.
Thanks
rgds

Hi
The time stamp value of UFOCaptureV2 shows the time when the frame data was processed by the software.
It does not show the time when the image was inputted to the camera.
It includes a few frame delay and the task dispatching timing delay of Windows.
Usually, the delay becomes up to a few hundred milliseconds and is not constant.
On the other hand, frame timing of video camera is very accurate.
Usually, it may be far less than 1 micro second.
Therefore as for the precise timing, believe the implicit frame timing and don't believe the time stamps. Or use GPS time super imposer for analog video signal. |
