Wow!, pity there is no emoticon for drooling!
I'm surprised that Canon (or anyone else for that metter) haven't gone into producing 35mm x 35mm cmos devices.
This size could be used with existing 35mm lenses with minimal vignetting issues and the square format would be very flexible. I'd have thought this would be a real winner if the costs could be kept down.
It would be a new "mini medium" format. If it could run at video rates as well as still it would be a super format to use.
So if anyone from Canon R+D is reading I'd be happy to be a tester!
