Hi all,
I got a very short capture the last night, do any one got the same ?
It's like a cosmic ray ( I capture many of them every nignt), but it's longer, the cosmic ray captured at this time show one or two picture, and no movenemt on the vidéo - I mean the coordinates pixels do not change.
Here it's quite différent you could see a lateral movementl.
A heavy particle falling paralel to the CCD ?
comments are welcome.

hi sonotaco,
OK, I thought that it was a cosmic ray also, but I imagined that there are heavy particules that collided with the CCD, so à very short flash which explain the few picture showing it.
thanks for your gallerie

Hi,
Whilst during night time imaging cosmics rays are a nusance, they are interesting in their own right.
An experiment to try is leave the camera running with the lens cap on. Reduce the dection size to 1 and turn off all of the motion filters.
Just leave it alone for a day and you'll be amazed at how many of these things you can capture. They can generate some amazing patterns depending on how they collide with the silicon atoms in the sensor.
Something to try on a cloud night perhaps!
cheers,
Bill.
