Hello,
with UFO Orbit I analyzed some Lyrides. In the radiant graph they are centered around the correct position within the radiant J5_Lyr. In the trail map they are also at the expected position but the J5_lyr stream is about 15° off at 285° RA and 28°dec. Why? See attached image. Something similar happens with the eta Aquarides, but in this case only when the corresponding stream is selected. With all streams selected the location is correct. Did I set something incorrectly?
Regards, Martin

Hi Martin
Yes, It looks radiant plot of each meteor (yellow and green) is correct, but the blue shower area display is wrong.
Below is our plot on my desk.
There are two modes on Trail Map display. One is "stp" on, that shows the shower area at its peak sol. .. your case.
And the other is "stp" off that shows the shower area position on the middle of displayed sol range.
In this case, sol that is used to decide the shower position is displayed on the left top position of the Tmap, like shown as "[radiant sol =32.6 4/22]" in my figure.
Basically, I recommend to "stp" off if you plot a narrow sol range.
But even if stp=on my desk, the lyr shower area did not move so much like your figure, on my desk.
You case can happen if the catalogue was modified.
I am not sure, but I would like to see the value of rap, decp, dra on your catalog.
Could you show me a snapshot like mine with stp off and rap decp dra visible ?

Now I found the reason.
+d was set as 8 on your figure.
It cause +8 days to compute the shower radiant position,
that is why the radiant shifted.
check off the stp, and set 0 to +d then you can get normal position

Thanks for the quick answer,
in the meantime I studied the manual carefully and came to the same result. My mistake was that I did not notice the greyed out date shift. So this is clear now. What I still not quite understand is that when I select all streams what does the time shift mean, is it relative to the mid time of observation period?
Thanks for clarifying,
Martin

Sorry, there is no meaning stp ON and +d not equal to zero.
please set +d zero for usual.
