Hi!
I am relatively new to ufoCapture and find it a great tool for recording meteors! However; I have some problems where I'm not sure if this is normal or if there's something I can do about it:
I have an asiZWO174MM camera with a fish-eye fujinon FE185C086HA-1 lens and a windows computer. In general the setup works fine but ufocapture records a high number of short videos during dusk every day. This has the effect that a very high amount of data accumulates on the harddisk in short time, and it is rather tedious to look through all these videos and to have to remove them manually again.
Is there a way to prevent ufocapture from doing this? Did I do something wrong with the settings?
I'll post a screenshot of my settings and the kind of recording I get during dusk.
Sorry for late answer. We are almost panic these days by gift from the universe.
It sounds, your problem is caused by camera gain stepping change.
The stepping of gain by AGC (auto gain control) cause big brightness change at a time, and it becomes the trigger of recording.
There are two methods for this.
1) Set two detection schedule for daytime and night time, and avoid the dusk time.
You can set two schedules relative to sunrise and sunset in Operation sheet.
2) Use another camera that does not change its gain in stepping.
I always use manual gain cameras and I also often see detections on dusk/dawn. To prevent most of it, detect minimum level must be 22 or so. Which is usually sufficient for even quite subtle events.
